Compounding of Offences: Criminal Case Ka Friendly Closure

Sab criminal cases jail tak jaane ke liye nahi bane. Kuch offences nature me private wrong jaisa hote hain – petty hurt, simple cheating, minor quarrels – jahan law allow karta hai ki parties aapas me compromise karke case “compound” kar dein.

Compounding ka matlab hai victim accused ko pardon karta hai, aur court permission se case close ho jata hai. Har offence compoundable nahi; statute list karta hai kaun se directly parties se, kaun se court permission se ho sakte hain.

Yeh mechanism criminal justice system ko thoda flexible banata hai. Chhote matters me years tak trial chalane se better hai ki parties compensation, apology ya undertaking ke sath closure choose karein.

Lekin compounding ka misuse bhi hota hai – pressure, intimidation, ya money-power se victims se forced settlement. Isi liye serious offences, public interest heavy matters, ya vulnerable victims wale cases me compounding strictly restricted rehti hai.
