Government ya PSU employees kabhi-kabhi compulsory retirement orders face karte hain – normal superannuation age se pehle hi “public interest” ke naam pe service close kar di jati hai. Salary future ki band, kuch benefits mil jate hain, par stigma feel hota hai.

Law kehta hai: employer ko past record, integrity, and usefulness genuine dhang se evaluate karna hoga. Ye backdoor punishment nahi ban sakta bina proper material ke. Courts dekhenge:

  • ACRs, vigilance reports, complaints,
  • Kya recent performance really poor thi,
  • Kya order mala fide ya political hai.

Employee writ petition ke through challenge kar sakta hai agar process arbitrary lagti ho. At the same time, Court rarely apni personal assessment type kar ke “ye employee bohot acha hai” nahi likhega; wo sirf decision-making fairness check karega.

Compulsory retirement basic discipline tool ho sakta hai, but misuse se service morale crash karta hai.
