Campus life me fights, protests, cheating, bullying, social media controversies – sab hota hai. Colleges/schools discipline maintain karne ke liye codes of conduct banate hain, jinke violation par warnings, fines, suspension, hatta ki expulsion tak ho sakta hai.
Legally fair process zaroori hai:
- Clear written rules known to students,
- Notice of allegation,
- Mauka to explain or defend,
- Reasoned order,
- Appeal mechanism.
Arbitrary punishments – “principal gussa ho gaye isliye nikal diya” – courts me tikte nahi. Serious allegations (sexual harassment, violence, major cheating rackets) me internal committee procedures kaafi formal hone chahiye.
Students ko bhi yeh yaad rakhna chahiye ki campus actions ka long-term impact hota hai – character certificates, records, recommendation letters sab affected ho sakte hain. Protest culture healthy hai, par violence aur destructive behaviour ka legal fallout real hai.
